- Bulbnose unicornfish (Naso tonganus)
- Five-lined snapper (Lutjanus quinquelineatus)
- Awa's lumpsucker (Eumicrotremus awae)

The only two striped dolphins (Stenella coeruleoalba) in captivity are visible in Taiji Whale Museum.
The only melon-headed whale (Peponocephala electra) in captivity. It shares its enclosure with a hybrid of a pilot whale x false killer whale, which is also unique in the world.
The bulbnose unicornfish (Naso tonganus) is a rare species from the family of surgeonfishes. It became famous amongst zoo enthusiasts in Tierpark Hagenbeck, where the last specimen died only a few years ago.
